Today we are releasing the first phase of our Age of Conan updates. The phases and planned dates and what they contain are below:
Update 1: Released Already
This release contains race and class icons from publicly available class and race pictures. We plan to release another set after the NDA is lifted and the game releases using some other class icons available in-game. So, the icons will only get better.
Update 2: Released @ 5:00 Today
I've just released our first Age of Conan template. A preview is below. This template is a fixed width template and contains some awesome forum icons.
Update 3: Launch Day (Next Tuesday)
This release will include improved class icons and probably 2 more templates if we don't get them out today. This release will also include Raid Progression widget icons for the 3 announced raids.
We're looking forward to Age of Conan and I'm sure many of you are too! Let us know if you have ideas for additional Age of Conan specific functionality. Just drop a message in the feature request forum.

We have been monitoring a steadily increasing performance issue with the Wiki portion of Guild Launch. This wiki was not written by us, but was instead integrated into our application. It has become clear that this Wiki cannot meet our performance requirements as we grow.
I have been working on a replacement for the Wiki and unfortunately the performance issue got to be too much before we were finished. Today, we ran a test and disabled the Wiki and confirmed beyond a doubt that it was the source of performance anomalies that while not overwhelming now are causing issues.
So, we will be replacing the Wiki with a new implementation by the end of next week. I'm currently analyzing performance logs to determine whether we should enable the Wiki again in the interim. Either way, we will enable the previous/current wiki when we change over so that people can reimport content. Current statistics show that the vast majority of guilds have only a few pages at most as it is.
I'm sorry to have to do this, but the current performance level of the Wiki has made it an underused feature as it is. I truly believe that a Wiki is a good thing for a guild to have, but clearly we need a different implementation.
The new implementation will focus on these features:
1. WYSIWYG editing
2. Easy creation of interlinked pages
3. Minimal Wiki syntax due to WYSIWYG usage.
4. Pages will be visible by all, but only editable by guild members (this is a bit more restictive than current functionality)
The goal is a performant platform that we can build upon.

I am planning to go ahead with our caching upgrade tomorrow morning 5/15 at 8:00am. We are actually able to run the new caching system and the old at the same time, so I will switch to the new system at 8:00am and monitor the performance and make sure things are running smoothly. If not, then I will revert back to the old caching system.
More details are here:
http://support.guildlaunch.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=893589
This upgrade is very important because it will allow us to speed up some important pages, such as DKP totals (the Members page) and some of the more data intensive pages. Upgrading the caching system will lay the groundwork for the code changes necessary to do this. In addition, this upgrade will fix instances where the current system is slow to properly update the cache.
This upgrade should not result in any downtime, however, if the new caching system does not perform as well on our live servers as it has in testing then there may be a few minutes of reduced performance on the servers. However, the performance impact during the early hours will most likely not be noticeable.

UPDATE: 8:47am 5/15
This upgrade is complete. The rollout went very smooth from my perspective and the server monitoring indicates things are running quite nicely. We'll keep an eye on it very close for a day or so all the same.

Today, I've released Build 570 - Version 4.2.2 of Guild Launch.
This release contains 2 features:
1. There is now a Leaderboard page in the Rapid Raid area. For all games this breaks your DKP down by Class or whatever the equivalent is in your game. For WoW, there are some extra groupings such as Armor Type and Weapon Type.
2. There is now color coding using the in-game Warcraft class colors for the Guild Character Roster, the DKP Members page and the Leaderboard. I will be extending this functionality to a few more pages later (signups, etc.)
There were a couple of minor bug fixes in this release also.
Enjoy!
